Surrey coach buoyed by Twenty20 progress
Thursday, 22 July 2010
SURREY will take plenty of confidence from their T20 campaign and will bounce back stronger next year.
That’s the verdict of coach Chris Adams, who saw his side knocked out of the competition at the weekend, despite a superb win over Gloucestershire.
The Lions demolished Glos, restricting them to 147-9 before making 150-4 inside 12 overs.
“We should be in the quarter-finals,” said Adams, whose side were left to rue results elsewhere on the final day, which condemned Surrey to fifth place in the South Group, narrowly missing out on qualification on run rate.
“But we take a lot of confidence from this season and when I look around the dressing room, I can see real talent emerging.”
