Beers to the future for brewery

IT IS more than 50 years since Bexley’s last brewery closed.

Reffells, in Bexley Village, turned off its taps in 1956 from the financial pressures of the Second World War.

CHARLTON produced an instant response to their first Championship reverse as goals from George Tucudean and Johnnie Jackson put them back on the right track.


And the Addicks did it without two of their best attacking players - top-scorer Igor Vetokele and winger Johann Berg Gudmundsson - plus rock-solid right-back Chris Solly.


Tucudean notched his second goal of the campaign in the 28th minute as he chested down Yoni Buyens' pass and then slotted past Andy Lonergan.


And he turned supplier early in the second half, playing a one-two with Franck Moussa before sliding the ball sideways for captain Jackson to extend the South Londoners' advantage.


But Bolton were back in the contest just three minutes later as former Palace defender Dean Moxey skimmed a left-footer into the bottom corner.


Buyens picked up his fifth booking of the campaign - meaning he will sit out Friday's derby at Fulham.
